My partner's name is Yamilet. She is from the Dominican Republic. She lives in uptown Manhattan with her family. She was also telling me that before she comes to school, she is working at McDonald's. Therefore, it is tiring for her when she has to come to school.
Eventually, she told me that she had come to the US in 1997 and that her first language was Spanish. Moreover, she is attending La Guardia Community College and her major is Travel and Tourism. On top of that, she told me all about herself. Her birthday is March 24; her favorite color is blue; her number is 24, and her favorite food is mofongo, a typical Dominican dish.
Apparently, she wants to go back to her country but only to visit her family. In contrast, she loves living in New York. As for favorite possessions, Yamilet loves her negligee and she has enjoyed what she has so far this summer, which includes going to Jones Beach on the Fourth of July.
In fact, while we were talking, all she wanted to talk about was what she liked and disliked. For example, her favorite season is summer, sport is baseball, and also she likes to go to the movies and, of course, she loves to dance merengue.
In the future, since she is very romantic, she is planning to go to Italy to find her knight in shining armor. Furthermore, she was telling me that most of her experiences were in the Dominican Republic. What's more during our interview, she was telling me about her experiences, both good ones and bad ones.
Once she went away with her family to a small city called Santiago where she rode a horse. She was afraid she would fall down because that was her first time riding a horse. During the interview she was also telling me that another bad experience was when she was eight years old her parents took her to a circus. When she saw a giraffe for the first time, she was scared to death. She screamed like never before in her life. She though the giraffe was a really tall animal like a building and she though that it could hurt them.
Furthermore, Yamilet began to tell me about her good experiences, which got her really excited. She had her first baby three years ago. Then she had had her second child a year and a half ago. And she said that both times were amazing experiences. However, for her husband this experience was especially amazing. Next Yamilet told me about her old job where she really enjoyed working. She used to work with kids as a teacher's assistant. She read to the kids, made them play, and got them ready to send them home. So when she quit her job, she was upset, but she had to come to the US.
At the present time, she is living in New York. And she is attendance La Guardia Community College. She says that her life is boring because she doesn't have too much time to spend on herself or go out.
