My name is Genaro Sanchez. I'm originally from Mexico City. I came to this country in 1991, at the age of sixteen. I came first, followed by my parents. It was really difficult for me because I was very young and my parents were in Mexico. But I have made a lot of progress in my life so far.
Last year I decided to study at La Guardia Community College. At first it was really difficult for me because I have to work eight hours a day, and then I take evening classes in this college. I ride the number seven train every day from my house to this college. I like this college because is near my house and because I have made some nice friends; in addition, the professors are really nice people. My major is accounting, and I decided to study this because I heard that accountants made enough money to buy a nice house.
My birthday is on November 29, my favorite number is seven; my favorite color is black, and my favorite food is Colombian food. By the way, my favorite sport is basketball, and one day, I would like to go to Madison Square Garden to watch a game between the Knicks and the LA Lakers. I live with my parents in Corona, Queens, where we rent a small apartment; so far, we are looking for a bigger apartment, but it is not easy to find a nice apartment that is also cheap at this time. So far I have two expensive things like a computer and a nice car. If I had more money, I would buy a nice house in Forest Hills, Jamaica, and trade my car in for a BMW. What I really like most about this country is that every person is free to choose whatever he likes to do in his life.
I hope that everything in my life continues in the way it has been going so far and that in the future I get everything I have dreamed of. In addition, I hope to continue making good friends and having nice professors at La Guardia Community College.
